Cuisinart are renowned for their quality cookware and this set is no exception.  The Cuisinart MCP-12N perform exceptionally well and the brushed stainless steel finish looks absolutely amazing.  The set includes a 8-quart stockpot and lid which I find is a great addition for stews and soups.  Although Cuisnart say that this set is targeted towards the more professional cook I would say the price point should be acceptable to many novice cooks and the overall build matches many sets that are 2 or 3 times the price of this set.  I also heard that food has a tendency to stick especially on the frying pan however i never came across this problem which may mean that the heat was too high as these pans will be hot enough on a low level due to the tri-ply CLAD.  Tri-ply CLAD means that there are 3 layers which are Magnetized Stainless, Aluminum Core and 18/10 Stainless.  It’s important to point out here that some pans only have a Tri-ply base whereas this set of Cuisinarts has a tri-ply sides for even heat distribution.

Strengths

The handles on the cookware have been vastly improved on this new model.  They are riveted for strength and the length of the handles also makes them feel lighter to pick up.

The are constructed from tri-ply Clad, which means it has three layers (magnetized stainless, aluminum core, 18/10 stainless).  This design is used on the sides as well as the base so it allows for even heat distribution.

The lids are interchangeable, so every pot and pan has a lid. You can keep covered food warm for over an hour with this set.

The pots and pans have curved lips which is ideal for pouring liquids as it doesn’t seem to drip like other pans.

Weaknesses

This set of pans only needs a low heat level to work effectively compared to other “cheaper” sets.  This can catch a few people out and cause damage to the surface of the pan and you will probably see some discoloring.

The handles have been designed to be a little longer than normal to help with the handling of the cookware however this can make the pans difficult to store or put in the dishwasher.

Summary

This premium set of pans is targeted towards the more demanding chef however if it fits the budget then even novice chefs will benefit from the technology. The set includes all the pots and pans you will need to cook any type of food. If you do decide to purchase this set of pans always start with low heat and turn upwards rather than vice-versa to stop any disappointment with discoloring. A fantastic set of pans that are easy to use and will last a very long time.
